In response to the spread of COVID-19, courts in Montana are taking measures to limit public exposure. Following the governor's stay-at-home order, all courts are operating with essential staff only. In areas that require clerks to assist with searches, delays should be expected. The Supreme Court of GA has renewed the judicial emergency until June 12th, and we do anticipate additional delays throughout the state due to procedures to limit the amount of staff in the courthouses. All courts in Kentucky are now complying with a new supreme court order issued on 4/1 and are no longer allowing any in-person activity in the courts through May 31st. There are some clerks who are willing to assist researchers over the phone, via email, or via fax, and where our local partners are able to get assistance we will continue to process requests. However, it should be noted that this assistance is not required of the clerks at this time, and we do expect significant delays throughout the state. We and our local partners are in contact with court leadership regarding these closings, and we will continue to provide updates as things develop.

For Chittenden/Franklin/Rutland Counties: Public access is typically available within the court with no court fee incurred. Currently, confirming if clerks will process requests during this time. If so, the $30.00 court fee may be imposed in these counties as well.
