Michigan Courts Public Record Update
July 07, 2021
On July 1st, 2021, Michigan was originally scheduled to redact the date of birth from all public record criminal cases. Thankfully, that didn't happen, and it was delayed for several months for most counties. Unfortunately, we have just been informed that some courts implemented changes anyway, and some of them do not intend on adding back the date of birth to the public records. As a result, record searches in some jurisdictions will either be greatly delayed or entirely unavailable. As of July 1, 2021, the jurisdictions and access impacted are listed in our Court Closures notice. If any of your searches are impacted by these actions, we will reach out to discuss an alternative option.
